To create the self portrait of myself was a challenging process to do. The process of making this was to first make the picture grayscale and also posturized. This would limited the number of colors in the picture. After this I would have to separate each different color in its own section or layer to make it easier to organize and find. While recreating the face there was a few challenges. One of those challenges was make the layers not have any small or big white space in between the layers and within the design. To try to overcome this challenge I used more points from the pen tool to make the path as straight as possible. Another challenge I had was creating the glasses for my face in the design. To create the glasses I had to create 2 separate layers. One layer for the frames of the glasses and another layer for both lens of the glasses. I then had to use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+8 to create a Compound path. A compound path is used to show a part of an underlying object through a hole in another object. This would then create the glasses itself. After finishing I had a total of around 5 layers including the sweater layer. To add on for the color scale drawing I used different colors of green and gray together to make it seem like the picture is camouflage. During this process I found it hard to think of creative ideas to put in my design. I could have done a regular design but decide on this.

I think that you used a lot of green and could fix a few things with the eyes. One thing I really like from this work is the color of the left eyes. A juan out of 10 c:
ReplyDeletehello i am henry, today i will be giving my thoughts on Self-portrait in color. This Self-portrait in color is good overall however there isnt much color going on, it looks very plain. You should add more colors on the face. I like how you drew the neck however the neck is plain as well, there is just too much green, you could add a background or add more color to the face and neck. This is overall a good Self-portrait in color, however you can still improve.
ReplyDeleteBoth the gray scale and color scale are very good however I feel like a background for the color scale would've been a cool contrast maybe overall good job though.
