Painted Self-Portrait By Juan Diaz

Image
Painted Self-Portrait By Juan Diaz      To created this Self Portrait we had to get use to the application of photoshop. Although there somewhat similar to Illustrator and InDesign there more options and selection for different type of brushes. Within this design I used four different brushes such as Pencil KTW1, Charcoal Brush, Sampled Brush 2 and WC2. One issue that was first seen when making this design was the creation of straight lines for the outlines. Even with Smoothing at 100% which allows for easier control over the brush was still hard to create straight lines. For me to created the straight line I had to slowly created the line with smoothing at 100%.Such example was the creation of the glasses. I could have made it more accurate and straighter. While creating my design the longest part of the work was the sweater. To created the sweater I had to created three separate. One for the sweater outline, one for the non-shadow side and another for the shadow part of...

Portrait in Type by Juan Diaz

Portrait in Type By Juan Diaz       For the Portrait in Type design I decide to make the type portrait out of Chris Hemsworth. To complete this assignment I had to get a portrait of a human face and use it as a model. I then had to recreate it with the use of letters and type. I also had to use only one font. That font being Source Sans Variable font created by Paul D. Hunt. As for the design specifically the creation of the suit I used the letter V.I then add another V and reflected the V vertically and combine them together to create a rhombus shape design. Then I used the the rhombus design to create the outline of the suit. I could have added more design to the suit to not make look basic or simple but I decide to stick with the original photograph when make the letter type design. As for the face which includes the ears, eyes, eyebrows, mouth and the nose I mostly used parenthesis for the outline of the face but also used lowercase L, J and C for the Face. C was...

self-portrait in color and gray by Juan Diaz

Self-Portrait in Color and Gray by Juan Diaz           To create the self portrait of myself was a challenging process to do. The process of making this was to first make the picture grayscale and also posturized. This would limited the number of colors in the picture. After this I would have to separate each different color in its own section or layer to make it easier to organize and find. While recreating the face there was a few challenges. One of those challenges was make the layers not have any small or big white space in between the layers and within the design. To try to overcome this challenge I used more points from the pen tool to make the path as straight as possible. Another challenge I had was creating the glasses for my face in the design. To create the glasses I had to create 2 separate layers. One layer for the frames of the glasses and another layer for both lens of the glasses. I then had to use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+8 to create a Co...

Analog and Digital color by Juan Diaz

Analog and Digital color by Juan Diaz  1.What are pixels? Pixels are small dots or square in a digital display. Pixels are used to form a complete image, video, text, or any visible thing on a computer display. Each pixel contains a red, green and blue color to show color in the screen. 2.How is color viewed in computer monitors? Color is viewed in computer monitors by the use of RGB color. The colors red, green and blue are mixed together to create new colors that are shown in a computer monitor or in other devices. 3.What is the additive color space? The color additive space is a mixture of Red, Green and Blue that are used to create new colors. 4.Describe which additive color sliders values in InDesign you would use to make white and black. To make white you need to have the color sliders of RGB to the maximum while to make Black all of the values or color sliders need to be at 0 5.What is the subtractive color space? Subtractive color space is the mixture...

6 Column Layout on 2 page spread by Juan Diaz

6 Column Layout on 2 page spread by Juan Diaz      In my page spread design I decide to make it from The legend of Zelda one of my favorite games. I specifically did about the history of the Legend of Zelda. For the picture that breaks the grid is Link. For this part of the design it was hard to do due to me having to recreated the mask for Link to ensure that the text wrap does not have any orphans or widow around the pictures. Although the mask around like could have been better to do. To show where it starts and where it ends I put subtitles dividing each section. In the design there is 3 different sections from the beginning of the history of Zelda to the current or present of the history of Zelda. The picture in the top left would be the title of the design. The picture in the bottom left is of Ocarina of time from the Nintendo 64.The pictures were also somewhat of a challenge to do because it hard to fit in properly within the...

Gridded Concert Poster By Juan Diaz

Image
For my Gridded Concert poster I created a poster for the Blacklite District, a rock artist. For the Title of the poster BLACKLITE DISTRICT I made the color/swatches of the title a color gradient from white to black. I originally was going to have the title in one whole line which would go from white to black in the middle then white. But I changed my mind to have it under each other. Also for each element I added either a underline or a box around the information. I did this to make it more visible and standout. For my design I broke the grid 2 times .I broke the grid for the tagline which is 1990 and for the pricing element of the grid, specifically the $50 by putting it in the middle of the text box. For the Location I decided on Yankee Stadium to it being big location and it was small enough to fit in the poster is a straight line. As for the font of this whole design I used 2 which is the font Impact and the font Adobe Garamond Pro Regular. The images is the T lo...
