InDesign Thoughts by Juan Diaz
Five things we did with InDesign
In InDesign we created different types of designs and images. We used different types of fonts, letters and words to create abstract designs. We used these different methods in the assignment of Gestalt Letters. The first thing we learned was the different tools and commands like the rectangle tool(M), text box/type(T), the pen tool(P) and more. We also learn how to set up/create a new file. As for the set up we learn how to put the Margins, Units, width and height in the file paper.
We combine different letters and fonts to created different types of principles like Similarity, Closure, Continuity, Figure-Ground and Proximity. We also learned about how to rotate, enlarged and reduce different words and letters in InDesign. As for the different fonts we used Garamond, San's serif, Rockwell, Helvetica, Transitional and more. While creating the designs we also used positive and negative space in the designs.
In another assignment Block Set Type we work with tracking/letterspacing and column width. We also changed the letter length to make them bigger or smaller to fit the word box. Each different page had a different font to be used with the same amount of words. Each word had to fit in the box without going over or being to short.
